Special Info  Noel Clairmonte Nelson AKA “BAGE, IVAN, AMIGO & CAPTAIN” was born on September 27, 1933 to Ennis Nelson (deceased) and Viola Nelson (deceased) in St. Michael’s, Barbados. He was the first of six children. At the age of five he was brought to Grenada by his parents and permanently resided there until he migrated to the US in 2004. As a young boy he attended Constantine Methodist School and later continued his education at Palmer or J.W Fletcher Memorial School. His interest and curiosity led him to create vehicles from material available at hand and this passion continued until he became a skilled mechanic. In December 1963 he married his beloved wife, Elvira Nelson. This union produced seven blessed children: Dexter, Deborah, Dorothy, Desmond, Dennis, Denise and Desiree. Noel was a devoted, loving father who worked extremely hard to ensure his family’s needs were met. He was employed at Jonas Brown & Hubbards and McIntyre Brothers Limited where he worked as a mechanic until he retired after over 20 years of service. He also used his service to repair cars for people in the community in his spare time. On some weekends, he also worked as a security for McIntyre Brothers Limited. Noel grew up in a religious family. He worshipped at the Constantine Methodist Church along with his parents inspired by his father, a Local Preacher. Noel often enjoyed telling his children folktales and stories with a moral ending. He sometimes entertained himself at “THROAT” shop, playing a game of Tic Tac Toe. Noel was a respectable man who lived a simple, peaceful, quiet life. He always said, “God Bless You” to his wife, children, grandchildren and anyone who helped to take care of him. After retirement Noel unfortunately lost his sight but this did not depress him. Instead he continued to uplift his spirit through music by playing his harmonica to praise and worship God and hum hymns and choruses even when he was sick in bed. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed. Noel leaves to mourn his wife, Elvira AKA “Cassie.” His seven children Dexter AKA Hablo; Deborah (former teacher at Constantine Methodist) Dorothy, Desmond AKA Yello, Dennis AKA Duss, Denise and Desiree; all in the US. Ten grandchildren: Crystal, Adenike, Donnalie, Anisa, Donisha, Adila, Tannel, & Shaydona in the US; Janae and Inykar in Grenada. Siblings: Cynthia in England, Godfrey in the US and Joel in Grenada. Son-In-Laws: Roger & Sheldon in the US. Sister-In-Laws: Glenda in the US & Brenda in Grenada. Cousins: Veda & Urban in the US & Gloria in Barbados. Eighteen nieces and nephews including: Karen in England, Auda, Asha & Adona in the US and Moriba, Perron, Cherish and Ron in Grenada. Other relatives and friends including Vilma Buckmire and the Lawrence family in Grenville. The Nelson family in Vendome, Tivoli, New Hampshire & Happy Hill. The Strachan family and Mr. Boney in the US. The Johnson family in Café. The Frank, Francis & Alexander family in Willis. Mr. Ventour in Beaulieu. Cecil & Nehemiah his Aides. And a host of other relatives and friends too much to mention. We love You! Rest in Peace.
