Merline Ambrose also known as “Tyene” was born in Annandale, New Hampshire Grenada. She was the ninth child in a line of ten, to the proud parents of the late Cicely and Reuben Antoine, on March 22, 1956. She attended Constantine Methodist School in New Hampshire and enjoyed a childhood filled with a combination of hard work balanced with hours of play with friends and family. She later migrated to the US and through diligence and hard work, she obtained her GED. She returned to Grenada, got married and later returned to the U.S. where she began a new life with her husband and two of her five children, working different jobs to help care for the needs of the family. She later succeeded in obtaining her certificate as a CNA. Merline worked hard to provide for her family, and although she was faced with a mountain of challenges, she perseveringly overcame those challenges to make sure that her husband and children were cared for to the best of her ability. She enjoyed spending her free time with her children and grandchildren, watching Chinese movies, playing dominoes, and cards with her family. She also loved playing video games with her grandchildren. She later gave her heart to the Lord, and became a member of the New Haven SDA Church and desperately struggled with the enemy of souls for her salvation. In the later years of her life, she struggled with some illnesses. She was overcome by her many sorrows and succumbed to death on February 2, 2018. One of the most valuable lessons she had taught us is that “Life is too short to fill it with selfishness, greed, and anger.” For this we are grateful. She is survived by her husband Alleyne Ambrose and her five children; Avis, Emma, Derrel, Stacey and Alex. Sons- in- law: Lawrance, Arthur and Patrick. Daughter-in-law: Dianne. Grandchildren: Keisha, Travis, Naja, Patrice, Brandon, Leora and Samara. Great grandchildren: Ayden, brother Simeon, and sister Elizabeth. Her good friends; Mrs. De Castro and Mommy Jean. Nieces and Nephews: Theadora, Sylvia,Michael, Alleynton, Cephas, Christopher, Glen, Debbie, Andy, Calvin, Susan, Kelroy, Kerry, Karene, Jason, Lynstan, Ava, Roxanne, Ramona, Carl, Carrol, Jackie, Howard, Samuel, Keddie, Cozel, Onel, Shawn, Kerro, and Fitzroy. Several cousins and in-laws throughout the United States, Canada, and Grenada. Although Merline will be greatly missed by her children and those who knew and loved her dearly, hang on to the hope that if faithful, we will all meet again on the great resurrection morning.
