Special Info  Catherine Gladys Berkeley entered this world on January 12, 1933 to the parents of; Augustine Berkeley and Veronica Lewis in the beautiful village of Belair, St. Andrew, Grenada. While growing up, Gladys attended the Belair Government School where she received her formal education. She developed a love for farming after leaving school and subsequently became an ardent farmer in her own rights. Gladys, as she is more affectionately known, gave birth to five beautiful children; Augustine (deceased), kiddy, Jean, Aaron and Evelyn whom she almost single handedly brought up in the most loving and disciplined manner. She subsequently became the loving grandmother of Deanna, Deanson, Pella, kester, Mark and keith and great grandmother of Tiffany and Jeremiah. One could not wish to meet someone more; friendly, straightforward, personable and jovial as Gladys. She had a very low tolerance for rudeness and hypocrisy but made friends easily and had a very high sense of humor. It would have been difficult to be in her company without being fully engaged in conversation or laughing until your belly hurts. She was also a no-nonsense woman and would put you in your place as soon as she thinks that you are out of line and that, unfortunately, kept a few folks away from her. She was not afraid to intervene in a conversation if she felt it needed her two ounces of salt and that gave her the reputation of being “fast” but she couldn’t care less. On March 20, 2018, the good Lord saw that Gladys’ work on earth was done so she quietly winged her way to the Great Beyond. She touched many lives in a very positive and profound way making it difficult to understand how life can be the same without her. She was a friend, a loving mother, a confidant, a darling. Though she is gone her legacy will live on in, myths, in rumors, in hearts and minds.
