Special Info  Carl Phillip better known as “TUB” was born on May 26, 1938, to Magna Phillip (deceased) and Cyril Antoine (deceased) in Trinidad and Tobago. At the age of one, he was brought to Grenada by his mother and raised in Grenada from there on by his grandmother, Elizabeth Roberts. As a young boy, he attended St. Patrick’s RC school. As he got older, Carl was active in the boy’s scout and would often take hikes around Grenada to places like Mt. Qua Qua and Fedon’s Camp. At carnival, he enjoyed playing Apache Indian, his favorite was the drums. As people will say “when Carl put the drums between his legs and began to beat those drums, even though you didn’t want to dance you had to get up and dance.” Carl was an avid fisherman and excellent at diving. He loved flying kites and will always walk with his bow and arrow. In 1970 Carl migrated to Brooklyn, NY where he met Diane Mc Kiver (deceased). Carl retired after working over 40 years as a Press Operator. After his retirement, he spent most of his time gardening and making repairs to his home. He enjoyed spending time playing and laughing with his grandkids. Carl had strong principles that he believed in and lived by, but he was never judgmental and loved people for what they were. He was the mediator of the family, you could always rely on his calm logic advice in times of family crisis and in his own friendly and amicable way he would strive to keep everyone happy. Anything you wanted to know, forget google and just ask my Dad…. he knew EVERYTHING. I’m sure Carl counted himself lucky to have his son Martin always by his side to help nurse and care for him as his health deteriorated. On December 28th, 2017, he passed away at the Crown Heights Nursing Home Facility. Carl Phillip leaves to mourn his children Dexter, Charmaine, Martin better known as Carl, Calvin, Shadonna, Amanda and Nimrod (whom he helped raise as a young boy in Grenada), His stepchildren who he also raised with Diane. Allan and Rasheen McKiver. His daughter-in-law Galeann Phillip. His sisters; Alice, Zerina, Norma, Merle, Grace, and Esther. Brothers; Durrant, John, and Mcliesh. Grandchildren Kendal, Sabrina, Brittany, Goody, Kevin, Alex, Alexis, Aaron, Princess, Matthew, Quamaine, Keonna, Kytali, Thaj, Kydier, Isabella, Riley and Ava and six great grandkids. His brother-in-law; Anthony Peters. His cousins;Clunis, Elfrid,Errol,Doila Christine, Christopher, Ann Marie, Sandra, Robert, Desmond, aka BB, Freddie, Franklyn aka Sky High and Clarence (who we dearly appreciate for helping us put all of this together) and a host of other relatives and friends in Trinidad, Grenada, Canada, England and here in the U.S.
