Francis Anthony Leid also known as “The Mighty Footsee” of Birch Groove, St. Andrew’s, Grenada who resided in the U.S. passed away on Oct 3, 2022, at the age of 74. He was a bright and vibracious soul who took care of everyone around him, His jokes and bubbly personality will forever live on.
Anthony married Agatha Bowen of St David’s on August 22nd 1990 in Grenada W.I. From that union together they had their son Ron Bowen and daughter Tenisha Leid. Anthony had 7 children in total, Evon, Erla, and Kellon who reside in Grenada, Daisha who resides in Trinidad, and Rickey who resides in California.
Anthony loved to dance and sing sweet calypso, even winning competitions in Grenada where he earned the title “The Mighty Footsee.” After becoming ill, he lost one of his legs, but because he was always dancing and singing you would never know. His personality was one like no other. The way he would light up a room with his corny jokes was just admirable and his strength to carry on was out of this world. He loved parties and family gatherings, any opportunity to eat plenty of food and see his grandchildren have a fun time. Anthony was a giving and loving person to all who encountered him. He also loved going to church with his wife whenever he could. In 2017, he gave his life to Christ and was baptized. Even with all his many health issues, he continued to be a light to those around him letting everyone know how good God has been to him.
He is survived by his loving wife; Agatha Bowen-Leid, his children; Evon, Kellon, and Erla in Grenada Daisha in Trinidad, and Ron, Rickey, and Tenisha in the U.S. As well as his grandchildren and great grandchild Lasarah, Janiah, RJ, Eric, Dorian, Latoni, and Madisyn in the U.S. Tristan, Giovanni, Tyler ,Rickael, Amiah, Marvon, Mckayla, Mayah, and Kaiden in Grenada, and Mariah in Trinidad. He is also survived by his siblings; Mary, Gloria, and Victor in the U.S, Joycelyn in Trinidad and Diana, Ennis, Kenny, and Fabian in Grenada. As well as his in-laws and many other families including his church family from Melchizedek House of Prayer. Francis will join in Heaven his late parents and two children. Anthony was loved by so many, and he will be deeply missed. He will always remain in our hearts.
