Today we are honoring, celebrating and remembering Gloria Alexis. Gloria was born in the beautiful Island of Grenada better known as The Spice Island, on June 12th, 1949. Gloria was the second daughter of Nelice Warden and the late James Mark. She is survived by her five children Ladinus (Doll), Leon (Errol), Karen, Lyintus, Kisha and 18 grandchildren along with her sister Dahlia, Brothers Leroy, Jerome (Lemoy), the late Dennis and Fiance Jeffery.
Gloria migrated to the United States of America with her son in 1984 with hopes of the American dream. She was a devoted mother and wife to Teaus (Uncle) and later widowed. Gloria loved life and cherished taking care of her family. Gloria was a kind, beautiful soul with a catching smile that melts hearts. Her hobbies included traveling, dancing, cooking delicious meals for her family, listening to various kinds of music, and she enjoyed shopping.
Gloria worked as a Home Attendant for several years caring for the elderly in their home. She then became a School Crossing Guard which she enjoyed caring for and protecting the children in the community. Gloria later worked as a School Bus Matron where she continued to play an integral part in nurturing and protecting the school agers.
Gloria got ill and later became disabled. Over the years, she persevered and overcame many obstacles. Gloria fought the good fight; she never gave up. The strength she exhibited can only be from above. Gloria succumbed to her illness and on December 13th 2022, the Lord called her home. We will always carry Gloria’s memory in our heart. Until we meet again, you will forever be missed. We love you. |
