Our beloved father Charles Coleridge Patterson (affectionately known as Jim or Pato), passed away on January 2nd, 2024 at the Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. He was born April 14th, 1940 in Chateau Belair in St. Vincent and the Grenadines to Bertha and Charles Patterson. At the time of his passing, he was 83. He was born the fourth child of his parents' the third of 4 boys including (Jackie, Harold, and Babs; and his eldest sibling (sister) Kathleen "Kip" Mason who is the last surviving child of that family lineage. He attended the Chateau Belair Methodist School and later the Intermediate High School. After school, he worked at the government printer in St. Vincent and joined the West Indies regimen and lived in Jamaica for his service in the army. Daddy (who we also called pops or papa) was a fun-loving person with a great sense of humor who enjoyed making people laugh. Charles Patterson is survived by his sister (Kathleen "Kip" Mason), four children (Andre Charles Jr., Robert, Claire, and Sheldon Patterson), Stepchildren (Alex Patterson, Alicia Patterson-Swaybe, Samantha and Karamo Samual), Grandchildren (Amina Patterson, Jameelah Patterson and Nadira Bailey), great grandson Jermaine Bailey Jr.; daughters in law, Shireen and Phylis Patterson, nieces and nephews (Sharon, John and Sherrill-Ann Mason, Leslie, Lauren, Troy and Adrian Patterson, and Floris Hamilton). EX wife’s Theresa and Sherill Patterson. Other relatives and friends including, Stanley and Laurel Patterson, John Harry, Christine Williams, Lance Edwards, Ena Francois, June Relford, Leroy Mayers, Edda, Grace Alice, Evelyn, Dawn, Sasan, Jim, Elkatha Huggins, Kenny, Bert, Oren and Meggwin Cruickshank, Reginald Geraldine, Andrea and Marcia Neverson, all the James family including Cacie Hoyt, Ardell, Merlene, Powell, Vrtil, Fredrik, Vlcie, John, Laura, Pervice and good friends Cecil Sterrod, Pat James, Dorathy Durrant and Robert Durrant (affectionately known to daddy as Nana) and others. Dear friends and family, on behalf of our family, we’d like to express our heartfelt thanks to all of you for your sincere and kind words of encouragement, prayers, text messages, calls and cards expressing your condolences to us at this difficult time. Now daddy is at rest, we will remember his laugh, his smile, and the fond memories we have of him. Rest in peace Papa.
